ZULU AXE BUILD, H RIDER HAGGARD INSPIRED
Book inspired build! My favorite series by H Rider Haggard describes an ancient and great axe, the Groan-Maker, the axe Inkosikaas which was won in combat by Umslopogaas, son of Shaka. While reality and fantasy mix, the story of the Axe is still incredible and I decided to make this axe come to life. I used the descriptions of the axe from three different books, Nada the Lily, SHE and Allan, and Allan Quatermain to create a visual on paper, and then I reached into the picture and lifted the mighty axe!
Note: Not a real rhinoceros horn
Warning! Do not attempt the craft you see in this video, all art seen is created by a professional artist who is probably an idiot! Stay safe, always wear saftey goggles and a dust mask!

    I've only been collecting uranium glass since June but I love my little collection so far. One of the last times I was at my favorite antique store one of the women who works there pointed out some custard glass that she was selling, and it's more expensive but very cool. It's completely opaque (you can't see through it at all) and sort of a light yellow, but glows just as green as the other uranium glass I have. I doubt I'll collect much of it, but it's just a neat thing to have. Currently my focus is on collecting pieces with the lovebird print.

    I've seen a few videos on these machetes, and looked at the specifications. I found that there is only 1/2 inch longer blade than my Bowie knives I carry. The Estwing is Way lighter than the bowies as well. I also have found that the Bowie tends to stop arguments just by its very presence "especially when you carry Two of them 😊 One of the Biggest issues is that you can't baton the Estwing because of the saw back 😢 I decided that I would be better off with my folding Gerber and two Timber Rattler Outlaws. Thanks for the video!

    • @MaLeeProductions
      @MaLeeProductions Місяць тому

      You are absolutely right, plus the estwing wouldn't be a good carry because it is so noisy in its sheath, the fit is very loose!

  • @lewruss7614
    @lewruss7614 6 місяців тому

    Great job cleaning up the tool head...which happens to be a 'track chisel' or if the blade was 'straight' a 'Hot Cut' chisel also known as a 'Nut Cutter'. It is positioned on a track bolt head/nut or perhaps some piece/portion of rail that requires removal. The tool head is then 'struck' with a sledge hammer...by another individual...thus chiseling. As to removing the lacquer finish and 'burnishing' the handle: If you don't intend to use the tool and just display it, great idea. But you have reduced the inherent 'moisture' content of the wood which can cause premature wear and early breakage, shortening the life of the handle. The lacquer helps retain some moisture, usually somewhere between 12 and 18%, which gives the wood some elasticity and lessens dry rotting. The tool head is carbon steel and will chip and sprawl when struck, so be careful and make sure to wear safety glasses and protecrive gear.
